Btw. It turns out that ubuntu doesn't install usb-modeswitch by default. I wasn't aware of this when I wrote the email. Without usb-modeswitch then you wouldn't have seen the device IDs I pasted. I hope you managed to figure that out on your own. Otherwise do a: sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch Btw. The more expensive modem sometimes (most times) doesn't connect for me using the network manager applet unless I select "Disable Mobile Broadband" on the right click menu. Which seems backwards from what you would want. Connecting with wvdial always seems to work. regards, dan carpenter _______________________________________________ The Uganda Linux User Group: http://linux.or.ug Send messages to this mailing list by addressing e-mails to: [email protected] Mailing list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Mailing list settings: http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug To unsubscribe: http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug The Uganda LUG mailing list is generously hosted by INFOCOM: http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
