Hi Gael, I'm not so sure if you can compare fusion tables & osm directly. Fusion tables seems to be a way to visualize (lists of) data. Either as a graph, or, like you tried, on a map.
OSM is just a map. The OSM API is ment to access the actual Geospatial information inside the map. That is something Google does not offer. Am not aware of any similar products than fusion tables that store your data in the cloud, and let you then access it again through an api. There is plenty of javascript visualisation libraries outthere, but they do require you to store your own data.
