Hi,
I have a Redhat 4 virtual machine(running on Vmware Esx 4i) whose hard
disk(with the '/' mount point) I wished to expand from about 37GB to 100GB.
The old partition table of the disk:

Disk /dev/sdb: 39.8 GB, 39876157440 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4848 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1               1        4814    38668423+  83  Linux
/dev/sdb2            4815        4847      265072+   5  Extended
/dev/sdb5            4815        4847      265041   82  Linux swap

So I expanded the disk in VMware and then went back to Redhat to expand the
disk using fdisk and changed the table to:

Disk /dev/sdb: 107.3 GB, 107374182400 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 13054 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
*/dev/sdb1               1       13054   104856223+  83  Linux*

I ran the resize2fs to grow the disk to its new size and it could mount on
another host as a secondary drive.
I tried to start the machine where it is the '/' after that and get a
mount error:(error 6 mounting ext3)
How can I get it to mount? I can still access the hard disk on another
machine and can change the partitioning from there.
Is the partitioning in the second instance wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Peter
