Revman has this http://ims.cochrane.org/revman/download, along with 
instructions for installation.

SPSS 19 does have http://users.ox.ac.uk/~richardc/guides/SPSSforLinux.html, I 
doubt there's much difference between installation instructions for ubuntu 
10.10 and 11.04, they should work.

However you could also tell him that there is another Statistical Environment 
called R (http://www.r-project.org/) very popular with Academics like the 
lecturer and those who really like to slice and dice or dig into their data. 
Almost forgot to mention that it has 2 or 3 popular GUIs 
(Rcmdr(www.rcommander.com/), Rkward(rkward.sf.net/) and Rstudio(rstudio.org)) 
and that can let you point and click your way to the same stuff in spss and 
more.
