Hi, For any LUG event, you only need 2 things:
- Speakers (which in this case, is provided for) - A location. There are a few locations around Kampala we have been using over time: - Makerere: big, very hollow acoustics - HiveColab: A bit noisy, but perfect size - Mountbatten: Small, far out, but what an atmosphere! ;-) - P7: Well equiped, small For this event (very late announcement, its Firefox, so might still get 30-40 people), I would suggest to try the Hive Colab. You can mail Barbara Birungi <[email protected]> to ask if the Hive is available (or check the website if there is a phonenumber, or ask here, on this list if someone has it) Once she says yes, all you have to do is create the event on www.linux.or.ug and send an invitation. Timewise, the Mozilla team flies around 21:00, so our normal timing would not suit them. Better to start around 15:00, so they can leave for the airport on time. Ah, you need to tell the speakers where to be. Either go to the event this afternoon and talk to them, or call Alex Wafula at +254 713 37 09 67 That is all there is to it. Anyone could do it. rgds, Reinier > Hi Reinier > > > > I am more than willing to assist with organizing the event , what would be > needed ? > > > > Best regards, > > > > Boaz Shani > > Managing Director > > > > Description: UGO LOGO Sign > > <http://www.ugo.co.ug/> WWW.UGO.CO.UG > > Description: LIBILINKS LOGO sign Ltd > > 164 Bukasa Road , > > Kampala ,PO Box 33149 > > Uganda > > > > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > roy mukasa > Sent: Wednesday, September 28, 2011 21:55 > To: Uganda Linux User Group; [email protected] > Subject: Re: [LUG] Firefox Luganda Translation Launch + LUG > > > > Just an inquiry, is the event open/free or is there a small fee to be paid? > > On 28 Sep 2011 21:44, "John Kibuuka" <[email protected]> wrote: > > I was excited when I first began using firefox in luganda way back in > 2008! > > > > http://www.ruralict.com/2008/08/luganda-firefox-finally-comes-to-life.html > > > > But the excitment wore off a couple of days or months after, when most of > > the Luganda words used, were not our everyday terms making me feel more at > > home with the english version! > > > > It would be interesting to share with other people what their experiences > > were. > > > > See you tomorrow @serena. > > > > JOhn Kibuuka > > www.easysites.ug > > > > On Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 6:09 PM, Reinier Battenberg < > > [email protected]> wrote: > > > >> Hi, > >> > >> There is really nobody interested in organising this?
