I tend to agree with these sentiments, up to a point.

 On the S2N ratio issue lately, well, lets just say a Steve Jobs doesn't pop 
his clogs every day, so we can expect that to come down, as it does, so I'd 
vote for status quo. (And this is not to say that because it is the best list, 
therefore all those who hate the S2N dips should live with it, rather that 
sometimes there is a price to pay, for the long term value one gets.)

 On Tim's worries  "if having those discussions on this list is actually 
harming the cause of Free software in Uganda" I am happy to report that there 
isn't a chance. The imperatives for free software in Uganda are strong, and 
have been for a long time. Well before Tim joined this list. And I believe will 
be, long after we've all left (to the creator, or other LUGs that a more pure). 
 I don't think that this list and the discussions herein can damage the cause. 
Or indeed any individual.  None of us is important enough to singularly either 
create free software nirvana here, or irreparably damage its prospects.
