I think imho forming a society of the affected to combat/alleviate the
problems of the affected just further entrenches the issue.
My head is still reeling from FAWE's recent somewhat illogical decision to
stop funding education for boys in order to increase the money
available for girls!!
I think the best way to go about this is to adopt what I call the "parent
bus driver" approach. Back in my school days, I once sat in a taxi
to take me home. The taxi was full except for one seat in the front. We
asked the driver why we were waiting and he said, "I am not going anywhere
without my son and he is still in class!". Similarly software houses can
adopt a similar approach. Same to schools and universities. Simply don't
move without a certain required quota of girls!! Have software houses
actually go to campuses to not only recruit but also incentivise the
students!
