Tom, IIRC you hurried to exchange the modem before you tried all
available means to get it to work.
Hint: If you go to http://forums.linuxmint.com/ and search for e173, you
will find other people who have had exactly this same problem and how
they solved it.

hello LUG; I have just installed linux mint 9 on an emachine laptop e525
but the network drivers have failed to install and also i have tried an
orange modem e173 s_2 but has failed to install too yet i have just
installed linux mint 9 on acompaq laptop en the drivers installed
well.Any help?
