Did this sort you out? Because If I am to check..... There were a number of options, I shall give the link when I am done with this stressing work. But all never made me through. The closest I went was having the modem detected at a USB device and modeswitch failing to change it into a modem for wvdial to use. If you can pull out the archives, look through the mail title: "[LUG] Failing to connect the new Orange Modem to Linux Mint" I know we didn't exclusively discuss the matter but I had tried hard enough before giving up. Hari, I shall try what you have mentioned, I can always access that modem and see whether it takes me through, -- .................................................................. Hint: If you go to http://forums.linuxmint.com/ and search for e173, you will find other people who have had exactly this same problem and how they solved it. -- Hari On 10/02/2012 08:51, Kizito Thomas wrote: I doubt you will be in position to install that modem, in Linux Mint. I also tried it on Julia (Mint 10) and it failed. All the methods I was given failed till when I resorted to exchanging with some one who gave me a e1752 which works perfectly. -- ....................................................................
