Seems a big task you have ahead of you, but usually you may have these
as your plausible thought patterns:
1. Can the modification you want to do to Ekiga be done as an
extension module? If so, then you need to read Ekiga's documentation
to find out how you can interface your module to it for example: does
it require recompilation of the original source code, can the module
be installed separately and Ekiga configured to fetch it at run time,
or other, what Ekiga routines are callable from your module and vice
versa, etc
2. Does the modification you want to do to Ekiga merit a sub version
or different release of the open source Ekiga? If your modification
cannot be done as an extension module and it merits incorporation into
the Ekiga release (your version), then you will have to look at the
licenses involved if need be, you will have to look at Ekiga both user
and tech documentation, you will have to look at probably thousands of
lines of code that Ekiga is made of, and from time to time you will
have to consult with the original developers or code authors of Ekiga.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Quoting Sam Agona <[email protected]>:
Hello All,
I am doing a project where I have reached a stage at which I have to modify
an Open Source VoIP System like this one.
It is called Ekiga, its an open source application for telephony.
Now, I need to know the language that it was developed in and also access
its source code.
I shall be so grateful for any help extended.
Below is the link where its setup can be downloaded (Choose the NetBSD
version):

Thanks.
