But, I suppose even if the ADSL local loop is copper, it should
achieve up to 8Mbps downlink, then you will be switched onto a T1, or
T2, or T3, or at T4 ye probably switched to the Uganda Border Exit
gateway, then to the Kenya Exit gateway, unto the Africa exit gateway,
unto Europe entrance gateway, then unto some university mirrors in
Europe to get the distros.
As far as i have been reading, the exit gateway interconnection should
now be fiber; so why couldn't you download your distros fast enough?
For the broadband mobile, probably i can understand, coz the base
stations may not be interconnected by fibre, the error rate is great,
and any overhead enabling encryption on the access modems renders the
system slow......
