This is my(!) experience: Using "utwap.3g" is faster then using "utweb" for the APN. With utweb I get like 10-20kb/s, with utwap.3g about 40kb/s in average up to 80kb/s at peak. The later makes it possible to share the 3G connection with others. Using phones with UTL's 3G is unstable unless you can find the hidden settings to camp on 3G (like on Androids). For some reason, the UTL network seems to suggest to the handset to prefer CDMA over 3G. I am playing that game quite often, shifting my phone millimetre by millimetre to have a stable 3G connection as it falls back to Edge all the time. Thus, using an unlocked Huawei modem where you can force 3G mode via software settings (WCDMA only) has so far been the best way to use kwiktok for me. Otherwise, UTL just becomes slow as everyone has suggested in the past who tried UTL's 3G. By the way, even the modems sold by UTL have mixed mode settings activated as standard (WCDMA preferred). In most cases you find your modem logged into the slower cdma network then on 3G. I tried other networks with the same phone. The 3G sign comes on more often, even if the 3G network's signal is weaker then the normal GSM network which is the opposite with UTL. With other networks it seems to prefer 3G as long as its in range. Cheers, Rocco
