Hi,

Roke telkom has a proper datacenter that provides these services. They have a
fiber connection into the UIXP.

Especially the pingtimes will be about 10 times lower than anything at the end
of the fiber.

Hi guys,

someone asked me if in Uganda there's any company that has the
bandwidth+power-backup resources to handle co-location and i was unable to
answer with confidence.

The usage scenario is
1) find a co-location company: (could be an ISP or hosting company or a well-
funded/resourced [N]GO)
2) drop off your server
3) maintain the server yourself, while enjoying their hi-speed internet &
automatic generator.

simplifying assumption:
   A) hosting in uganda (vs the US/Europe) may result in faster speeds for
Ugandan surfers
   B) the UIXP will come into play - benefiting all (Ugandans) involved.

Do you have any ideas about this?
How much would it cost?
Is the speed-improvement big enough to be worth the costs and the effort?

Regards,
Richard
