Also has CARP Common Address Redundancy Protocol which allows you to configure
a fall over firewall cluster, and multi-wan allowing fail-over and load
balancing for 2+ ISP's.

Embedded version runs on a USB or Compact Flash Disk for low power
configurations and it has IPV6 support

Over to you IPCOP (P.S. As an ex-IPCOP User this is making me feel very
conflicted)'

pfSense (via Squid) does Debian package and Windows Update caching as well :)

Reinier,

Yes I had forgotten the windows update caching (now that is a life saver), and
advanced SQUID proxy which can also be configured to use a secondary upstream
proxy if available. You can also add NTOP monitoring and logging,

pff, ipcop can do all of that +

(i Repeat)

WIndows Updates Caching!!!

This feature alone will save you hundreds of megabites of downloads, if not
thousands.

Eat that, pfsense!

Last time I used Zentyal there were no historical RRD graphs for network

pfSense is a very powerful gateway and firewall system with numerous plug-in
modules (e.g ntop, Squid, Snort, NRPEv2) that are easily available from the web
interface. It's very stable, secure, and handles VPNs, multi-WAN, clustering,
and traffic shaping with relative ease.

I haven't spent a lot of time with IPCop so can't really make a comparison
between the two.

That would actually be kinda fun. But it would bog down a lot of inboxen out
there, so it might be better suited for IRC.

i was just hoping kyle would reply in a similar manner and we would have a

today already)

Just a suggestion: How about presenting a motivation for the package in

dropping just a name? Otherwise this thread will be very long, boring, and

I'd recommend pfsense, how ever the thing to check is that you don't have two
default gateways set. If you set the default gw on the LAN interface when you
plug in the cable it overrides the default gw from the WAN.

check our route -nv to check your routing table.
