Hello Peter,

What version of Shoreline Firewall are you running?

For basic troubleshooting, note the following
- Right NIC interface positioning in the "masq" file i.e. eth0 eth1 or vice
versa. Your public should be first
- Traffic policies in the "policy" file e.g loc net ACCEPT, loc fw ACCEPT,
fw net ACCEPT, net all DROP info, all all REJECT info etc
- The "rules" file should be thorough e.g ACCEPT loc net tcp
80,8080,3128,443 etc

Else if I must take the trend of the previous postings, SME
Server<http://wiki.contribs.org/Main_Page>is another simple install
which will help you handle your basic gateway
concerns. And if need be, I have a straight forward write-up to incorporate
NTOP etc.

Good luck.

# Edmonds.
