Introducing VAT on PCs will hurt the economy, and once it is added it will be extremely difficult to remove.
They should do the opposite if they want to inspire economic growth; remove VAT on mobile handsets (as has been done in both Rwanda and Kenya). This is like drinking salt-water in an effort to stave off death from dehydration.
