Collins,

Not yet since it is a new installation, but he was wondering if adding
additional wireless routers with the same SSID close to the different areas
where users are concentrated will improve the internet performance.

My question is, if it improves performance, what is the reason behind the
improvement?

Internet access

Are they having problems with signal strength? If so then adding another
wifi route with the same SSID on different channels should help reduce the
problem.

Hello,

I have been asked this question by a colleague who is an IT administrator
for a 30-person network in a double storied building:

In our office there is a single router which provides internet access,
however it is in a downstairs room, so I am wondering if having wireless G
routers in the upper rooms close to usage points will improve the
performance of the internet connection for those additional users

There does not seem to be any problem with the current wireless performance
since we are using a 2Mbps internet link.
