Jake,
It's Nokia that's to blame! They've put all their eggs in one basket
without being coerced to do so. They've options. Many options that they can
run their hardware on. Why don't they play like Dell or HP in the PC market
who have to liberty to run other Operating systems like Ubuntu on their PCs
other than Windows?

Microsoft is already taking hold of it's own destiny by diving into
hardware production. The Surface is evidence for MS's strategy to control
it's own ecosystem and if Nokia(which doesn't even have a tablet by now)
continues to tether itself on MS that's watching it's own back, am afraid,
it'll go in the way of the big Blue in the 90s.
