I do not agree at all. As a web service owner, security comes first. One
cannot in good conscience compromise security simply because some users are
irrationally choosing one browser over another. This is doubly true for
banking services.

Second comes usability. Even here, it makes sense to ditch IE support. Do
you have any idea how much additional resources is wasted on making an
otherwise-perfect web page work in IE? Some people do, apparently. There's
a web shop out there which, if you are using IE7, adds 6.8% to your bill.
This is to pay for the additional development time wasted on making
everything work in the non-standards-compliant archaic excuse for a browser.

On a personal note: I outright block IE users from my web page altogether,
dumping them on this page: <http://www.sandslott.org/ie/>. This page
contains good arguments for users to ditch IE, but it also serves the
purpose of keeping them off my page. The kind of person who would knowingly
and willingly use Internet Exporer is irrational and objectionable. I don't
want that kind of person on my page, in my house, in my workplace, in my
neighbourhood, or in my life.
