*I was here doing some private reading about Fixed line penetration in
Uganda.*

*I have noted that With seven mobile networks, Uganda’s mobile market is
overcrowded. Mobile voice and data services have greatly affected Uganda’s
telecom market, given the poor condition of fixed-line infrastructure.
Investment in LTE technologies has increased the reach and capabilities of
mobile broadband services, but retail pricing services are still expensive.*

• *Fixed line subscriptions of 328,811 @ 1% penetration*

• *Mobile line subscription of 20.22 million @ 54%
penetration*

*• Internet subscriptions of 7.1 million @ 19.2%
penetration*

*I however have questions that members on the group can help me answer as i
could not easily get the facts right.*

   - *Is the reason for poor fixed line penetration mainly because the core
infrastructure does not exist, or is it that it is hugely expensive, or
   both?*
   - *What are the current indicative market costs of fixed lines (phone
   and internet) in Uganda?*

*Problems, i don't own a fixed line phone or internet connection. *

*Thanks in advance.*
