Hi List! To bring closure to the question posed regarding mounting Lustre in a heterogeneous network environment of both InfiniBand and ethernet, the connection failed because of a network switch config item unrelated to Lustre itself.
It ended up having nothing to do with Lustre File System options at all. Yay! megan
