His CD of music for the 1608 Medici wedding, La notte d'Amore co-directed with Alan Curtis, was supported by the 2000 Noah Greenberg Award given by the American Musicological Society. He has been a Fellow of the Villia I Tatti in Florence and holds the chair of University Professor of Music at the University of Calgary. Since the appearance of Manuscript Sources of 17th-Century Italian Lute Music (Garland), he has published Performance on Lute, Guitar, and Vihuela (Cambridge University Press) and The Cambridge Companion to the Guitar. DAVID DOLATA has performed as a continuo lutenist at Glimmerglass Opera in New York, the Boston Early Music Festival, and the Spoleto Festival and has been heard on National Public Radio, BBC Radio, CBS Sunday Morning, and Ars Femina. He has edited the Capricci of theorbo virtuoso Bellerofonte Castaldi for A-R Editions and written several articles on historical tunings and temperaments. (One of which he presented at the SSCM Conference in Vermillion, SD.).A student of Paul O'Dette, he is now Professor of Musicology and Director of Graduate Music Study at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. He has also teaches in the Summer Classical Guitar Workshop of the Cincinnati Conservatory and reviews CDs for Early Music America. JOHN SCHNEIDERMAN began his performing career on banjo, guitar, bass, and fiddle, and has continued his interest in performing traditional Appalachian fiddle tunes in the clawhammer style on the five-string banjo. A student of Frederick Noad and Eugen Dombois, he now specializes in eighteenth-century music for the lute and the nineteenth-century guitar. He has performed with the Los Angeles Opera, Musica Angelica, Seattle Baroque, Chanticleer, Musica Pacifica and the American Bach Soloists, and is a member of the ensembles Galanterie and Les Deux Amis. He has recorded music for both lute and guitar on the Titanic, Audioquest, Dorian, Centaur, and VGo labels.
