I have a Yamaha chromatic tuner, cost about =A325, which at first reading (i= .=20 e. when I first pluck the open string) shows odd results, But I've found tha= t=20 it quickly settles down and after I've plucked the string for the 3rd, 4th t= ime=20 it always stops by the green middle light when the it is in tune, as=20 confirmed by ear. It seems the thing needs a few moments to settle down for=20= each=20 string, and then does the job properly. Can't complain. I also use it for my= =20 guitar, and it does an admirable job there, and seems fine for the lute, as=20= long as=20 one takes its quirks into account. Cheers all
