herb - i picked this up from a film called "32 Short
Films About Glen Gould" in which the actor playing him
soaked his hands in warm water before a performance.
i assume gould did as well. i tried this for better
fluidity and finger dexterity but found that my
fingers (didn't notice the tips especially) remained
cool and "clean" throughout. i try to do this before
playing but don't always have the time. the idea is
that by making your fingers warmer than normal air
temperature, anything after that is cool by
comparison. lateral thinking?
