Well, there is Victor Coelho's "The Manuscript Sources of Seventeenth
Century Italian Lute Music."   This is obviously limited to Italian
manuscripts, but it outdoes H. M. Brown by including an incipit for each
piece, as well as concordances. The indexing seems pretty good, although
I have not made extensive use of it.
