I string my 66 cm Venere 10-course in G, using a chanterelle of 0425 Pyramid nylon. I've never broken a chanterrelle yet. It works fine. It sounds just as good in G, with all the string gauges appropriately lighter than for F tuning, and the strings are just as responsive, easy to tune and play on in G.
