Dear Jan,

Yes please - I would be most grateful if you could ask wether you can send me
the information.

On another mattrer: are you aware of any paintings/engravings from the period
(late 17th/ early 18th centuries) ahowing such instruments? Bohemia seems to
have been the birthplace of the big Gallachon and it's therefore quite possible
that representations exist which are not widely known outside the area.

  regards and thank you

  Martyn

  Dear Martyn,

Mr. Cepelak (lutemaker from Prague) and I had the opportunity to examine
such interesting instrument which now forms a part of the collection of
the newly opened Museum of Czech Music in Prague. There is one Gallizone
(strings: 6x1, 894mm, "S" shaped head) which seems to be original, well
preserved work of Thomas Edlinger (label: THOMAS EDLINGER / Lauten- und
Geigenmacher in Prag 1728 ), and it is to my knowledge his only
instrument of this kind.
I have photos and documentation of this instrument but I am not sure if
it can be published without permission of the museum. We have made the
documentation for ourselves when it was in the workshop. I can ask about
the details if you are interested.

Best regards
Jan Tulacek
