Giving her the same benefit of the doubt, she recorded an entire Vivaldi CD striving for pretty much the same dramatic effect. I'm inclined to think that the music's unfamiliar and technically difficult for her (was it Burney who complained that Vivaldi would have done well to remember that "the gullet is not the neck of a violin"?) and technical concerns are driving the performance: she's mainly concerned about machine-gunning the notes out in tempo.
