Dear G. and all,

there are quite a few more Conrad Neusidler pieces in the Hainhofer luteboo=
ks, most of them in the first section which contains protestant chorales an=
d nearly all of them very simple settings he might have dressed up for lute=
pupils of his (there are a few exceptions, though). Others might be hidden=
in the fourth section of these books - their collector wrote that most of =
the German dances in this section are Conrad's but he didn't specify which =
of them.
This is not exactly concert repertoire (although one might consider one of =
his more elaborate chorale settings for use in appropriate circumstances) b=
ut the pieces are not mere curiosities, either. Apart from their assumed pr=
actical purpose as teaching material they represented part of the religious=
life of people like Hainhofer which was far more important than it may be =
for most people today.
Has anyone found more Conrad Neusidler pieces outside W 510 and the Hainhof=
er books?

Best wishes,

Joachim
