Funnily enough, that draught was not resumed with 13c lutes, swan-necks, archlutes, liuti attiorbati and the like, all of which were probably strung all-gut. Food for thoughts! What I'm pondering on, also, is whether Mace's data should perhaps be taken more serious. His lowest bass course is C.
