Cant imagine that it would not have been, never having worked with it I
wonder how one would distingish it.

Is it large enough to be useful as a peg?  if already sort of round and
tapered, maybe the forking tines would serve as a knob, and might not go
oval as wood does. I suppose it would take more than one large animal to
provide enough pegs, makes for a large feast (o several of them).
