I agree with you Manolo, the maker is best positioned to do testing and build the instrument accordingly. Start from the makers recommendation, that way the bridge is most likely to remain attache, the instruments top will be responsive, and you have a good chance of projection. There will be limits within which you can change things to achieve your concept of what sounds best, but the makers recommendation is where you should start your experiments.
