Dear All,

I guess Gert's point was simply that Segovia's imitation of a lute shows what he thought lutes sounded like, and (perhaps understandably) wished to distance himself from. Which lute players could he have heard before 1965?

The text of poor old Dowland's Lady Hundson's Allemande takes a bit of a battering though, including some missing beats!

Best wishes,

Martin
