Ah, Marius, one big difference between lutes and guitars is that there are a
vast many perfectly acceptable decent classical guitars available on a
mass-produced scale. One can get into classical guitar on an instrument of
fair quality without having to delve into the realm of the best handmade
instruments. The very best hand-made classical guitars do take into the
tens of thousands US/EU$. Still, there are playable guitars to be had
starting at a couple-few hundred.

Best,
Eugene
