Hello Dan: Thanks for your kind comments. The six-course bass lute has taken some getting used to but has been a staple for us for a few years now. It's by Sandi Harris & Stephen Barber and is modeled after the Warwick County Museum Frei. I think there is a blurb with some nice photos on Stephen & Sandi's site under six-course lutes. The sound has really blossomed and, with Donna's pleasing range and my working musician's knack for making the best of it, we find we're using it more and more. I would still like to find an 8 or 9 course version when money falls from the sky.
