   Best is to keep it out of sight as much as possible though out check-in
   and boarding. Try to board early rather than late and get in there and
   put it in an overhead compartment. If you are too late to get it in a
   compartment you are now at the mercy of the flight attendants. They may
   stow it somewhere.

   If you are forced to hand it over, beg them to hand load it. Strongly
   request special treatment: door side, hand loading. Keep telling them
   how fragile it is. Be nice. That is about all you can do.
