You don't know that. I have a book somewhere detailing how a lot of
songwriters/groups were robbed. Not more than 30 minutes ago I heard in
a documentary about the Beatles that their share of something (was it
the movie Hard Days Night or a number one record?, I've already
forgotten, but the point was made) was 800 pounds each. They were
appalled when they found out how much more money the Stones were
making. Probably had a lot to do with their split. Don't want to take
the thread off on a tangent, but the rich-rocker image is greatly
overrated. So many of those famous groups didn't make diddly squat
until the 3rd or 4th album when they had some bargaining clout.
The good news is, I don't think you have to worry about most of the
lute repertoire.
