As has been said, probably not her best value, especially not as a kit for a novice builder; but in saying that I must note that you have said nothing as to her skills in luthierie. If the kit is built, then the resulting instrumnet needs to be evaluated for its merits, excellent lutes can be built from kits, all depends on the skill of that builder and the pains taken. I have not seen the plans of that particular kit I beleive it has undergone several revisions over the several decades it has been offered.
