I had a note from Hiro Minamino, who is in the unpleasant position to
witness the tsunami as it washes up on the beaches of Mission Viejo,
California, where he lives. He writes that there was difficulty getting
through, but he has heard through skype (what's that?) that all of his and
his wife's family live in the south of Japan and are safe.
