Hi-
Not sure why you wouldnt belive me. Just because the baroque lute has more
strings doesn't automaticly make it harder to play. If that were true the piano
would be the most difficult of all. I played ren lute for years as well as
classical guitar (still do play the guitar). I would always rather play an open
bass than a fretted note. Its simply less to do physicaly. My left hand always
gets -so- tired with the ren lut and guitar, but never so with the baroque
lute.(a major exception would be Falckenhagen's all keys prelude).

Hi, Sterling and Ed,

Part of me wants to believe you when you say baroque lute is easier, and I do
recall having read that...the chords do seem easier than chord fingerings in
renaissance tuning. However, part of me is wondering if you are kidding me? :-)
If you are, I think it's great and I don't mind a bit...

Warm regards,
Brent

You couldn't get better encouragement than from Mace. He tells how
'easy' the Baroque lute is compared to those of the past.

  Good luck.

Mace is absolutely right about this. Much easier....
