The identification of this lutenist in "réunion d'amis", painted by Eustache Le
Sueur (Lovre), is based on the interpretation of the story of the manuscript
"La Rhétorique des Dieux". It seems unlikely that this lutenist is really Denis
Gaultier. But we really have a portrait of Denis - in the Rhétorique, made by
Robert Nanteuil. And this face looks different to the man on the "réunion".

The story is complicate and here's not the place to refuse the mix of wrong
informations since Mariette who sold he book in the 18th century.
