Try this:
Set up your filter for a fairly narrow boosted band.
Sweep it up and down the range, listening for it to make the plicks worse.
This tells you the frequency to cut.
Experiment with depth of cut, and bandwidth.
Good luck, and don't expect miracles.
Have you tried different microphone positions?
Might be possible to reduce the problem in the first place,
which is better than trying to fix with eq.
