I think the database entry of accordsnouveaux.ch (François-Pierre Goy &
Andreas Schlegel) also says, it is for mandore.
Praetorius gives this scordatura for the "Mandürichen" (also from
accordsnouveaux.ch). Quote in German:
"Von Praetorius stammen die frühesten erhaltenen Angaben zur Tonlage der
Mandore. In seinem zweiten Teil des Syntagma musicum: De Organographia,
Wolfenbüttel, Elias Holwein, 1619 in der Tabella Universalis Aller
blasenen und besaitteten Instrumenten gibt er auf S. 28 folgende drei
Stimmungen für das Mandürichen an:
g'' c'' g' c' = hfh
c'' g' c' g = fhfh
c'' f' c' f c = hfhf."
in English: From Praetorius we have the first mentioning regarding the
pitch of a mandore. In the second part of Syntagma musicum: De
Organographia, Wolfenbüttel, Elias Holwein, 1619 he gives in the
Tabella Universalis Aller blasenen und besaitteten Instrumenten (of all
blown and stringed instruments) on p.28 three tunings for the
Mandürichen (mandore):
g'' c'' g' c' = hfh
c'' g' c' g = fhfh
c'' f' c' f c = hfhf."
The last scordature fits perfectly for this manuscript.
