Where I come from, the party asserting a fact has the burden of proving it. But we’re not really talking about facts (and certainly not about “news”) here, just a sweeping generalized opinion about the crabbiness of more than 50 percent of the lute players in the world. You tend not to distinguish much between your opinions, often unsupported on their face, and actual, verifiable facts. Crabbiness is not measurable or verifiable, unless you’re in possession of some Crabbiness Unit Meter technology I’m not aware of.
