Lucid was 10.04, and 3y desktop support; Precise (12.04) came with 5y
desktop support.
Would be interesting to hear what the results of your script are on
the 12.04 release?
Although with 14.04 LTS due in six months, I'd suggest waiting for
that rather than locking into 12.04 now for five years.
