It's the --iso <full path the dvd.iso> that is breaking. It finds the iso file but doesn't like what it finds. Writing said file to a stick, mounting it, and using --device <dev> works fine. It was 1.4 G of download, but my yum.conf has entries for the internode mirror so all it costs is time.
