Hi Andrew,
Is Chromium an option for you (in case you can't resolve this issue) ?

Hi all
I searched for a way to uninstall Google Chrome as an update is
needed. I came across this:
alg@xxxxxxx :~$ sudo dpkg -r google-chrome-stable
[sudo] password for alg:
and I got this:
dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting:
loading files list file for package 'mutter-common': cannot open
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mutter-common.list (Input/output error)
alg@andrewg:~$
Is there a way in Ubuntu to run some housekeeping to tidy up the system?
I have a large commitment in Google drive and I would like to keep
Chrome up to date.
Many thanks
Andrew Greig
