(posted this in comp.unix.solaris but have not received much feedback) Has Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) support been added to the miniroot in Solaris 10 i.e. when I boot off the Solaris 10 media and copy necessary config files, can I access my metadevices?
Currently when I boot off the media, modinfo reports no md modules. I see /etc/lvm/md*.cf links to /tmp/root/etc/lvm/md.cf which makes me believe that I may have access to the metadevices if I copy the correct files from the internal disks. Am I missing something? If it SVM is NOT available, how would I add it? In Solaris 8, I have used the techniques described in "http://www.sun.com/blueprints/0101/RapidRec.pdf" to add metadevice support. When I get a chance I'll see if something similar can be done in Solaris 10. Thanks in advance. -- prasad This message posted from opensolaris.org
