Works like a charm at Debian Unstable, I even tried to abuse it to crash 
with no luck.

One thinh though.
I had a html file named "Image:2124.jpg" in my directory and it tried to 
display that resulting in a warning message. With or without slide show I 
think we should just skip files it can not display iirc that's how many 
other viewers do it.
At least a more non intrusive message about "skipping file 'xxx'" could be 
used (show top left for half a second or something). The error box used 
now lies on top until I click "ok".

If I try to browse my ~ for images it will choke on all documents, movie 
files, tar files and others. I think we can do something about the 
usability here.
