viewnior is indeed a good program (I recently packaged it for Fedora)
and could become the default image viewer of LXDE. I like the clean
interface. It follows GNOME's HIG and fits well to the rest of the LXDE
desktop. gpicview on the other hand looks more like a rip-off of the
image viewer of Windows XP/Vista.

But before viewnior can replace gpicview it must be feature compatible.
Currently gpicview has a lot of features that viewnior lacks, most
notably lossless rotation of images, support for animated GIFs. basic
EXIF support etc. Maybe we can join the viewnior development to speed it
up? Has anybody contacted the vievnior developer and asked for his
plans?

P.S.: One potential potential problem with viewnior: It supports setting
the wallpaper in GNOME. So if a distro builds viewnior with GNOME
support, we have a GConf dependency in LXDE. :(
